I came over Hamiltons books on Anita Blake by chance, and fell emmidiatly in love with her character.The first books up to Blue Moon, I've read in norwegian. But thay stopped selling them, and since then I couldn't get them. But, when I got my kindle, these were almost the first book I bought. Reading them in english is slightly different, and I like it better than in norwegian.
These are books that keep the thrill going, either if it is about crime, love, relationships in other ways, action, the fantasy of a different world made real with great use of words and description. The best thing, in my opinion is that is has a great humor in it, than sometimes I laugh out loud when I read. The caracthers has a great depth to them and for each book, you learn something new about them.
The first books are very different to the later ones, because of the carachter changing, and that is also why the thrill and wonder still follow you through each book.
If you don't like very lively described love making scenes or crime scenes or even get into darker thoughts that rests in many of the character, then this is not your cup of tea. Mabye it is, and you will find yourself puzzled by it too. It is well written, in my opinion. Not everyone can make a love making scene so bluntly described without fuzzing and still make it more real then the typicall housewife literature known for sprinkling it with flowers and chocolate.
Also, I love Anitas character, for the strong woman she is, in all that very male evironment.

First let me say this review is not for the book quality, the series is great and I have read them all. This review is for the kindle version and formatting. When you order these books, first of all the price is more expensive than buying them individually. Second, when you order the set, they all come together as one book. Meaning, on your kindle menu all 5 books will be under one title heading. The formatting considers it one huge book, which makes it a pain to navigate through. If you want to read a specific book, you have to "flip" through all of the to find it.
So, save yourself some hassle and just buy the books individually. They are organized better and you save a little money.
The content of the books is great. I have been a fan of Hamilton's early works for a while. This is a great "guilty pleasure" and a nice way to spend some time. Certainly give her books a read. Just buy them individually.
I have gobbled up all of the Anita Blake Novels that I have been able to get my hands on. I have really enjoyed Anita’s evolution from monster hunter to monster lover. I love that her world is populated by were’s of all kinds. I appreciate her thinking outside of the standard myth about Vampires and their society. I am rereading all of her books in anticipation of the next in the series.
It was nice to find a small female warrior. Edward was interesting. Soon maybe book 5 or 7 any real fight scene was replaced with a group sex scene most too close to torture porn for me. Instead of amping up romance or a steamy sex scene she just keeps getting weirder she is so far off the path I have no desire to share it with Anita or Laurell any longer
laurell k hamilton is amazing anita is the best female charactor ever please bear with the bad spelling anitas a bad ass and caring all at the same time i think she was best described as prince charming i think all girls would like to be prince charming at least once and anita gives us that i also love the fact that this book ties so many geners up in one murder mystery supernatural romance action theres almost not enuff to discribe it all great read will leave you wanting for more every time )
Had previously read all of these in paperback, but lost my copies during a move. So this bundle was perfect for replacing them, and of course I had to re-read them. Just as good as the first time.
I've read this series before just never in the collection. I love Anita and all her men and friends. I enjoy rereading the series and getting reaquainted with all the characters
I can't believe how addicted to this series I've become. Strong female with unpredictable plots and page turning action. I'm planning to read them all
